I think experience is the key to learning. I believe that parents, educators, and family members should make every effort to bring new experiences and challenges into children’s lives. Children who have not been exposed to reading or writing are not even going to be aware that they are incapable of doing so. It is the parent’s responsibility to inform their children on education and make it an important part of their life. I do however not believe that just because a child comes from a lower class home that they are doomed for life. Once they have become old enough to understand the surroundings they come from I do believe they have the choice to better themselves regardless. I have a few friends who have come from lower class homes they have pushed themselves and graduated from college on their own. People who come from lower class families can use that as a motivational factor to push themselves to become better.

You couldn't have said it better when you said "Just because a child comes from a lower class home they are doomed for life." I agree with you 100%. Children can and should be made aware that they can do whatever they set their minds to. As future educators, it is our job to provide them with the positive encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI also like what you said about not being doomed for life. There are so many programs that children can be involved in even early in life so, there should be no reason for them not to get those reading experiences. Even lower class children have the opportunity to succeed.
